At Bendigo Family Dental Care, we offer the convenient, safe and modern digital dental radiography. Offering low dose dental x-rays. We have invested in some of the latest and most reliable technology to give you peace of mind and comfort.
By using only a maximum of one-third of the radiation of a traditional dental x-rays our digital dental x-rays have little to no environmental risk. Because they are digital, all chemicals are completely eradicated, the radiation exposure is dramatically decreased and your images are available almost instantly.
Given the resolution of these digital images, we are able to diagnose any dental problems more accurately as we can zoom in on areas of concern and identify any minor issues. The instantaneous images are delivered to our screen, and can be fully adjusted for brightness, contrast and magnified in order for us to identify the smallest of cavities, infection, the first signs of gum disease and loss of bone. Onsite OPG X-Ray Unit
An OPG (or Orthopantomagram) is a digital image that scans your upper and lower jaw. This offers a wide view x-ray of the lower face, This panoramic view shows all the teeth and gums of the upper and lower jaw on a single image.
Unlike more traditional imagery, an OPG can show the number of teeth, positioning and how they are growing. An OPG also indicates which teeth are still to surface through the gums. This can give our dentists valuable information that a traditional x-ray simply cannot.
An OPG digital image is an essential tool used for planning any treatment involving orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, wisdom teeth assessments and giving a valuable impression of not only the teeth, but the bones that are supporting them.
We have a full OPG X-ray system at our dental practice, meaning that we are a one stop shop for your dentistry. There would be no requirement for referrals to other imaging centres, saving you time and additional travel.
