Crowns
If you have a cracked, badly decayed or a tooth that is damaged, a Crown is an excellent option. We can cover your tooth with a Crown in order to permanently seal the original tooth if it is beyond repair or restoration. Not only are Crowns used in restoration, but they are also used in cosmetic dentistry in order to improve the visuals of teeth that are discoloured or misaligned.
Like Porcelain veneers, Crowns look and feel natural as well as being resistant to stains and decay. They are an excellent permanent solution.
Bridges
Cosmetic dental bridges offer a natural looking, durable and easy to maintain solution to filling the gap. Typically, a dental bridge is made up of a filler tooth (a pontic) attached to two dental crowns fitted either side of the gap. This creates a permanent and resistant solution.
Dental bridges are not only an excellent cosmetic solution, but they are also used to stop the movement of teeth that are still present causing new gaps between teeth. Any spaces in the mouth can result in occlusion, jaw problems or spur periodontal disease. Dental bridges ensure the integrity of your existing teeth, positioning of your teeth and helps to keep your smile healthy and natural.
Step By Step Guide To Dental Crowns & Bridges:
First Visit
Our dentists will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, jaw, joints and other structures that support your teeth. We will use our state of the art diagnostic imagery, take moulds and impressions of your mouth and investigate any issues that could impact the look and health of your teeth. You will then be informed of your options and we will provide you with what you need to make the best choice for you.
Preparation
We will finalise your plan and keep you informed of what to expect. Our highly experienced dentists will fashion your natural teeth either side of your missing tooth to allow for the Crown/Bridge to fit perfectly and securely. While your final bridge tooth is being fabricated in the dental laboratory a temporary crown will be in place.
Final Restoration
After 2 to 3 weeks, your final bridge will be ready. You will have an appointment for a Crown/Bridge fitting at our practice on Myrtle Street, Bendigo. Our dentists will permanently cement your new Crown/Bridge leaving you with a natural looking smile that will stand the test of time.
